Green Line – Towards Greener Schools: A Community and Partnerships Resource

Caring for the environment and making students aware of their responsibility to their surroundings is essential.  Don Bosco School, Matunga has a School Environment policy christened “Green Line”. This is the GreenLine Handbook compiled by Fr. Savio details how the school should responsibly dispose of waste.

How does an Environment Policy come under Community & Partnerships?

For one, a good Environment Policy, such as Green Line, is inclusive of all the school’s stakeholders: teachers, students, leadership and parents. Also, an Environment Policy gives a school ample opportunities to interact with local NGOs that work with the environment, local government bodies in charge of keeping the neighbourhood clean and also gives scope for student led initiatives like planting trees, zero traffic policies, community cleaning drives and more.
